13 MetroWalk: The Federal Reserve

We will have an information session and private tour of the Federal Reserve in lower Manhattan. Located in the heart of the Financial District in a distinctive Italian Renaissance-revival style building, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York boasts the largest depository gold reserve found anywhere in the world.We will tour the facilities with a special guide and even descend into the Gold Vault, five stories below street level. This tour is definitely not to be missed!

Following the tour, join Metro International’s board member and former Vice President in the Research and Market Analysis Group at the New York Federal Reserve, Dr. Dorothy Meadow Sobol, for lunch and further discussion of the Federal Reserve System.

Come help a group of local high school students create their very own outdoor classroom in a public garden! Join gardeners, fellow international students and the community of Bushwick as they help restore "the Secret Garden" - a miniature wildlife refuge right in the middle of Brooklyn.
