*Metro's Summer Student List

This year, Metro International is compiling a list of international students who will be in the New York City Area this summer in order to better keep them informed of different summer outings we may be organizing. Please feel free to forward the names and emails of students studying on your campus this summer to Coordinator of Enrichment Programs, Jessica Coffey jcoffey@metrointl.org .

*2008 Fulbright Awards Dinner

Metro International is celebrating over 30 years of creating global citizens and inspiring a peaceful world this year.  And we are finally changing our name!  The new name will be publicly launched at this year’s Fulbright Awards Dinner, our annual benefit event, on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at the Waldorf=Astoria and we want you all to be there!

You should have already received a letter about this extraordinary occasion.  The Fulbright Awards Dinner is a crucial component of Metro International’s annual development plan, so anything you can do to help ensure your institution’s support would be greatly appreciated.

Each year a larger number of institutional members purchase tickets or tables, take advertisements in our event journal, and send representatives to the event (including college presidents, other administrators, international education professionals, faculty members, and students).  Many thanks to you for helping to make the case for this support on your campus – we couldn’t do it without you!  If there is anything we can do to facilitate the outreach you do on our behalf, please contact Metro International’s staff member Jennifer Zanowiak at (212) 431-1195 ext. 28 or jzanowiak@metrointl.org – and please mark your calendars!

*2009 Ford Motor Company International Scholarship

The 2009 Ford Motor Company International Fellowship of the 92nd Street Y, the world’s first global Jewish community and cultural center, is now accepting applications from community leaders who are citizens and residents of Azerbaijan; the Baltic States of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania; Cambodia; Ethiopia; Israel; Liberia; and Uruguay.  Applications must be postmarked, faxed, or emailed by June 30, 2008 to be considered.  Please distribute the below brochures and applications to students you think would benefit from this wonderful opportunity.
